Involuntary stay resulted from a collective desire to participate in theatrical experiments by a group of colleagues who belonged to the same generation. The group was composed by five theater directors and one dramatist or script writer. Through a collaborative process, an exquisite cadaver, as used by the surrealists, we proposed a particular approach to the theatrical act. From the thematic interests of each director, Elena Guiochins wrote a story that was divided into five blocks to be directed as a relay race, using the same characters. Thematically the work represented the vision of the contemporary middle class in their relationship with certain stereotypes within television. The last week of 1999 was distributed into five acts, one day for each director, with the idea of accessing unity, through multiple fragmentation.
