This video originates from the unrest that provoke the inability to apprehend in its totality what reality has to offer. Our perception is only partial and there’s always a degree of short sightedness, a sort of blindness that prevent us from reading what we have in front. Sight is understood in this case as an analogy of concience.
The animations were inspired by Herman Snellen’s chart to measure visual acuity and the music score is a collaboration with Alvaro Ruiz in Mexico city. Most of the material was recorded during an artists residency at Banff Centre in Canada with the support of Fonca (National Endowment for the Arts in Mexico).
