The gelatin sculptures of flowers, embedded within transparent bodies, are part of what we might call contemporary Mexican crafts. These unique objects have gained almost fetish status as edible aesthetic marginalias with such power, that consumers often feel torn between the desire to eat them and preserve them intact, as something worthy of admiration. The result of a inside look into how the production and consumer processes could be altered, was a special edition of gelatins inspired by sea urchins and floral explosions, of varying colors and shapes in two shades of pink. These special edition gelatine sculptured were made specifically forthe exhibit “Pink not Dead” by Maurycy Gomulicki. The final presentation consisted of an installation accompanied by the video that documented the process of preparation of the gelatins, starring Mrs. Vicky Estrada, and the distribution of them among the attendees to the gallery.
